Peshawar University Faculty Prohibited from Engaging in Romantic Relationships with Students

Islamia College University in Peshawar has introduced a new code of conduct for its faculty members following the dismissal of an assistant professor over harassment accusations.

The university administration has instructed teachers to avoid any romantic or inappropriate relationships with students, emphasizing that all staff must maintain strict academic and professional boundaries. Any unethical or unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated.

Officials noted that such incidents harm the institution’s reputation and warned that severe disciplinary measures will be enforced against those who breach the code of conduct.

This action comes just a day after the assistant professor was terminated due to harassment allegations made by a female student.

The university’s inquiry committee carried out a detailed investigation, and the syndicate upheld the findings, resulting in the immediate dismissal of the accused assistant professor.
