PIA Plane Safely Lands After Scare of Possible Missile Threat at Fujairah Airport

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight narrowly avoided danger during landing at Fujairah Airport after a missile incident occurred nearby. The situation created panic but ended without injuries.

According to reports, PIA flight PK-175 landed safely at around 6:00 a.m. The aircraft was carrying 123 passengers and 8 crew members. During the landing, a missile attack took place near the naval headquarters close to the airport. Smoke from the blast briefly covered the surrounding area.

Passengers and crew on the PIA flight experienced moments of fear as the incident unfolded. However, airport authorities quickly brought the situation under control. No damage to the aircraft was reported, and all individuals on board remained safe.

Two PIA flights, PK-173 and PK-175, had arrived from Islamabad to Fujairah. Despite the incident, operations continued with only minor delays. Officials confirmed that both flights later returned safely to Lahore and Islamabad without any injuries.

A PIA spokesperson stated that flight operations are being closely monitored due to the evolving security situation in the Middle East. The airline has taken precautionary steps to ensure passenger safety during ongoing regional tensions.

Earlier, PIA received permission to operate two daily flights to the United Arab Emirates. These include one flight to Dubai and another to Abu Dhabi. The move aims to maintain connectivity despite disruptions in the region.

The airline had also resumed flights to Dammam in Saudi Arabia. However, these services have been temporarily suspended following increased security concerns after missile incidents in the region. Flights to Jeddah, Riyadh, and Medina are continuing as scheduled.

Due to the closure of Iranian airspace, PIA flights to Europe and Canada are facing delays. Aircraft are now being rerouted through Afghanistan’s Wakhan corridor before heading to international destinations. This change has increased travel time for passengers.

The broader situation has also impacted global air travel. Several major airports in the Middle East, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, have faced closures or restrictions. Thousands of flights have been canceled, leaving many passengers stranded worldwide.

Despite these challenges, PIA continues to operate essential routes while prioritizing safety. Officials say the airline will adjust its operations based on the regional situation.
