Islamabad – The Government of Pakistan has launched the Electric Bike & Rickshaw Scheme 2026 under the Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification Program (PAVE). This initiative aims to promote eco-friendly transportation by offering affordable electric motorcycles, rickshaws, and three-wheelers to citizens nationwide.
The scheme provides heavy subsidies, easy installment plans, and special priority for women, differently-abled individuals, and overseas Pakistanis. It is part of the New Energy Vehicle Policy 2025–30, designed to reduce fuel dependency, lower carbon emissions, and create job opportunities in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.
In the first phase of the Electric Bike & Rickshaw Scheme 2026, the government will distribute 40,000 electric motorcycles, 1,000 electric rickshaws, and 1,000 three-wheelers. Applicants can register through the official website, pave.gov.pk, with the application deadline set for 30 September 2025. The selection will be done via computerized balloting to ensure transparency and fairness.
Applicants must be Pakistani citizens over 18 years old, hold a valid CNIC, and provide proof of residence. Special quotas are reserved for women, differently-abled individuals, and overseas Pakistanis. Monthly installments start as low as PKR 2,900, making EV ownership accessible for a wide range of citizens.
The Electric Bike & Rickshaw Scheme 2026 offers significant economic and environmental benefits. Users can save thousands in fuel costs monthly while reducing air pollution. Additionally, the scheme encourages local EV production, creating employment and boosting the national economy.
The government emphasizes that the program will be implemented nationwide, with a focus on urban and semi-urban areas. Officials encourage interested citizens to apply early to secure their place and benefit from subsidies of up to 80 percent.
