Pakistan is taking strong steps to address regional instability. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a key meeting with parliamentary leaders. The main purpose is to discuss National Security concerns. The meeting will also review regional developments affecting Pakistan’s borders and security interests.
The prime minister’s adviser, Rana Sanaullah, shared details with media in Islamabad. He said the meeting will take place tomorrow at 11:30 am. Political leaders will receive a security briefing. The discussion will focus on Pakistan’s National Security challenges. These include border threats and growing tensions in the Middle East.
Sanaullah said the prime minister personally instructed invitations for opposition leaders. He urged leaders to give opinions beyond party politics. He also encouraged national unity on National Security issues. According to him, decisions should prioritize the country’s stability. No political party should bring demands to the meeting.
Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai suggested expanding the briefing. He said the entire parliament should be included. He stressed that Parliament must stay informed about National Security matters. He added that regional dangers require collective political responses. He promised to share his party’s final decision after internal consultations.
The briefing comes at a critical time. Tensions have increased in the Middle East. The United States and Israel conducted joint strikes on Iran on February 28. Pakistan is carefully monitoring the situation for National Security risks.
Pakistan is also dealing with cross-border terrorism. Security forces are conducting operations against militant groups. These operations target elements linked to Afghan-based threats. The military launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq on February 27. The action came after firing incidents from Afghan Taliban fighters along the border.
According to official reports, Pakistani forces have achieved significant success. Security forces have killed 464 militants. More than 660 militants have been injured. Forces have also destroyed 188 militant checkpoints. Another 31 checkpoints have been captured. These operations aim to strengthen Pakistan’s National Security and protect civilians.
