Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that the Govt ready for dialogue with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) to ensure political harmony. He spoke during a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister emphasized that unity among political parties is essential for the countryโs progress and prosperity. He recalled that he had repeatedly extended an offer for dialogue and stated that if PTI is willing, the Govt ready to meet with the party.
However, PM Sharif clarified that unlawful actions or blackmailing will not be tolerated under the pretext of dialogue. He stressed that discussions should focus on legitimate issues affecting the nation.
The Prime Minister also expressed confidence that the successful privatization of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL) will advance the governmentโs privatization agenda. He described the transaction as the largest in the countryโs history and highlighted the transparent process undertaken to achieve it.
In another development, PM Sharif congratulated Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir on receiving a Saudi award, calling it an honor for the entire nation.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar stated that dialogue is important for political stability but stressed that PTI must first apologize for actions he said harmed the countryโs international image. Speaking on ARY News, Tarar accused PTI of running propaganda campaigns against the Pakistan Army and the Field Marshal, amplified through accounts allegedly based in the UK and the US.
He urged PTI to publicly distance itself from these platforms before engaging in any discussions.
With political tensions ongoing, the Prime Minister reaffirmed that the Govt ready to hold constructive talks with PTI, provided discussions remain lawful, respectful, and focused on genuine national issues.
