The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted mainly dry weather across most parts of the country on Thursday, with chances of isolated rain, gusty winds, and thunderstorms in upper regions during daytime hours.
According to the Met Office, upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan may experience scattered rainfall accompanied by strong winds and occasional hailstorms. Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious during changing weather conditions.
In Islamabad, partly cloudy skies are expected along with a 40 percent probability of rain and thunderstorms during the day. Weather officials noted that shifting atmospheric conditions could bring brief but intense showers in the federal capital.
Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to remain dry overall. However, areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Peshawar may receive isolated rain showers and thunderstorms as weather systems move through northern regions.
Punjab is also expected to witness largely dry conditions, though cities such as Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Lahore could see scattered rain and thunderstorms, with hailstorms possible at a few locations. Meanwhile, Sindh and Balochistan are forecast to remain mostly dry, while Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan may observe partly cloudy weather with light rain at isolated places.
During the past 24 hours, rain-windstorms and thunderstorms were recorded in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, and Kashmir. Significant rainfall included Rawalakot (37mm), Gujranwala (30mm), Kot Addu (28mm), Attock (26mm), Murree and Narowal (21mm), and Peshawar (28mm), while Islamabad recorded 15mm in Bokra and 13mm at the airport.
