Pakistan Police Investigate Mansehra Child Abuse Cases

Two separate incidents of sexual assault against minor students have been reported in the Manshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Police have registered cases and arrested several suspects in connection with the alleged crimes.

Incident 1: Qari and Accomplices Accused of Assault

Police have registered a case against a ‘Qari’ (a religious teacher) and three other individuals for allegedly gang-raping a 13-year-old ‘Hifz’ student at gunpoint. The incident reportedly took place at the Dar-ul-Uloom Talim-ul-Quran mosque in the Karakar Ghani Bala area.

The victim, identified as Muhammad Ismail, filed a complaint alleging that the main suspect, Qari Habibullah (the Imam of the mosque), along with Maulvi Abdullah and two unnamed individuals, assaulted him. Police have so far arrested three of the accused, and are conducting raids to find the primary suspect, Qari Habibullah. A medical examination of the student has been completed, and the investigation is ongoing.

Incident 2: Four Individuals Arrested for Assault and Filming

In a separate incident within the limits of City Police Station, a 14-to-15-year-old student was allegedly sexually assaulted by four individuals who also filmed the act.

The victim’s uncle, Waqas Ahmed, filed a report stating that his nephew was on his way home from his religious school when he was approached by two individuals, Hamza and Musa Khan, who asked him to come with them to buy notebooks. They were met by two others, Qari Faisal and Shoaib, at a local school. Hamza allegedly showed the victim a pistol and forced him into a nearby jungle where the four individuals then assaulted him and recorded it on video.

Police have registered a case under sections 376 and 34 of the PPC. Three of the four named suspects—Hamza, Qari Faisal, and Shoaib—have been arrested and sent to jail. Efforts are underway to apprehend the fourth suspect.
