A 12-year-old girl, Mehak Dastgir, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her paternal uncle’s house in Surjani Town. According to rescue officials, she was discovered hanging from a dupatta. Her body has been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem and further legal proceedings.
Surjani Town police station SHO Muhammad Ali Shah confirmed that evidence has been collected from the scene. While the family has suggested the possibility of suicide, police have launched a thorough investigation to determine the true cause of death.

Mehak’s father, Ghulam Dastgir, told reporters that he had entrusted her care to his elder brother and was later informed by him of her sudden death on Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities say all angles are being explored, and the post-mortem report will be critical in determining whether foul play was involved.
