Polling for by-elections on six National Assembly (NA) seats and seven Punjab Assembly seats concluded on Sunday after hours of voting across multiple constituencies. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reported that the process remained largely peaceful, supported by strict security arrangements.
Voters participated to fill the seats left vacant due to resignations, de-seating, and other administrative changes. Following the close of polling, the counting of votes began under the supervision of election and security officials.
These by-elections are seen as important for political parties seeking to strengthen their representation both in the National Assembly and the Punjab Assembly. Unofficial results are expected to emerge later in the evening, with the ECP set to announce official results subsequently.
Authorities appreciated the cooperation of citizens and reiterated their commitment to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections.
