Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is considering changes to its strategy for the planned September 27 march.

The proposed plan was discussed during a parliamentary party meeting in Peshawar. Party leaders consulted lawmakers and office-bearers about the upcoming protest.

According to party sources, PTI leadership proposed a phased approach. The plan could involve sit-ins along the Punjab Border before moving toward Islamabad.

Under the proposal, protesters could establish sit-ins at several locations. The party could then consider advancing toward the federal capital in early October.

Reported protest locations include Attock Bridge and the motorway near Hazro. Haripur, Khushal Garh in Kohat and Nathia Gali were also mentioned.

The proposal, however, did not receive complete support during the meeting. Several lawmakers reportedly wanted September 27 to remain the main day of action.

Those lawmakers argued that the caravan should move toward Islamabad on the same day. They also opposed limiting the protest to sit-ins near the Punjab Border.

The meeting reportedly continued for around two hours. However, participants did not reach a final consensus on the complete protest strategy.

PTI leadership has said government restrictions could influence the protest strategy. Party leaders reportedly discussed using restrictions as part of the wider political campaign.

The proposed sit-ins could keep the movement active at several locations. Party sources said this could also maintain pressure on the federal government.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan have used a cricket comparison. They said the party was preparing for a “Test match” rather than a “T20.”

The statement indicates that party leaders are discussing a longer protest campaign. However, the exact strategy remains subject to further consultations.

PTI sources have said the march will begin from Peshawar on September 27. A caravan led by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is expected to travel toward Attock.

Earlier reports also described plans for camps and sit-ins at several locations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The reported arrangements include points along the motorway and GT Road.

Meanwhile, security preparations have intensified in Islamabad and surrounding areas. Authorities are preparing for several planned political protests.

More than 22,000 security personnel are expected to be deployed in Islamabad. Additional personnel have also started arriving in Attock.

Containers have been placed at different locations around the capital. Authorities can use them to restrict traffic if required.

The Red Zone has also received additional security measures. The area contains major government offices and diplomatic facilities.

Police forces from other provinces are being sent to Islamabad. The deployment is intended to strengthen security during the planned protests.

Heavy vehicles have also reportedly been taken into custody for possible use during road closures. These measures are being implemented ahead of the September 27 protest.

The Punjab Border proposal remains under discussion within PTI. Some party members continue to support direct movement toward Islamabad.

The disagreement means the final route and timing have not been completely settled. Reports indicate that another consultation may be held before September 27.

PTI has maintained its plan to begin the march from Peshawar. The onward strategy will depend on party decisions and developments on the ground.

The government has meanwhile continued preparations around Islamabad and major connecting routes. The security situation could affect movement on key roads.

The final protest strategy is expected to become clearer after further consultations. Until then, the reported Punjab Border sit-in plan remains a proposal rather than a confirmed final arrangement.
