Police have identified the alleged main shooter in the murder case of PTI leader Abdullah Tahir. The development marks a significant step forward in the ongoing investigation into the high-profile killing.
According to police, the suspected main shooter has been identified as Arslan Jutt. Investigators believe he played a central role in the attack that claimed the life of the PTI leader in Lahore.
Police said Arslan Jutt allegedly rented a car from Gujranwala with the help of a facilitator. He then traveled to Lahore along with two other suspected shooters before the attack.
Investigators said another facilitator arranged a motorcycle in Lahore. The motorcycle was later handed over to the suspects in the Gulberg area, where the shooting took place.
According to police, the attackers used the motorcycle to carry out the attack before escaping. After the incident, Arslan Jutt and the two other suspects allegedly left Lahore in the rented vehicle.
As part of the investigation, police have detained six facilitators. Officials also recovered the rented car and the motorcycle that were allegedly used during the crime.
Investigators are now examining the role of each suspect and facilitator. Police said further arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
Police also revealed that the slain PTI leader had business dealings with several individuals. Investigators are reviewing those financial and business connections to determine whether they had any link to the motive behind the murder.
Officials have not confirmed the exact reason for the killing. They said all possible angles are being investigated before reaching a final conclusion.
