PTI Leaders Warn of Nationwide Protests if Imran Khan isn’t Released

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders gave a two-week deadline for the release of their jailed leader, Imran Khan, during a major rally in Islamabad’s Sangjani area. Clashes occurred between PTI supporters and police as tensions escalated.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and other PTI leaders threatened direct action if Khan is not freed within the timeframe. Gandapur stated he would personally lead the efforts if necessary.

The rally, held under a no-objection certificate (NOC), proceeded despite high security, roadblocks, and earlier rescheduling due to revoked permissions. PTI leaders criticized the military establishment and the current government for numerous cases against Khan.

Despite logistical challenges and roadblocks, a large crowd attended the event. PTI’s Barrister Gohar reaffirmed Khan’s leadership and condemned the authorities for hindering access to the rally.

Although the Islamabad administration set a 7 pm deadline for the rally to conclude, it continued, leading to clashes between PTI supporters and police. Khan, jailed for over a year, remains a strong political figure, with his influence persisting through media and social media.
