Punjab Announces Eid ul Fitr Holidays for Educational Institutions

The Punjab government has confirmed that all educational institutions, both public and private, will observe Eidul Fitr holidays starting from March 28. This announcement was made by Punjab’s Minister for Education, allowing schools to remain closed for the festive break.

According to Secretary of Schools Khalid Wattoo, government schools will reopen on April 7, with annual results set to be declared on April 4. The holiday period provides students and teachers the opportunity to celebrate Eidul Fitr before the commencement of the new academic year.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted Eidul Fitr to fall on March 31, a Monday, aligning with the holiday schedule. Earlier, the federal government also announced a three-day public holiday from March 31 to April 2.

Meanwhile, the Sindh government has cancelled the holidays for all officers and staff of the transport department to address the issue of fare overcharging during Eid. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that officials will monitor fares and ensure strict action against transporters charging excessive rates.

Citizens are encouraged to report overcharging incidents to ensure immediate action by the transport authorities.
