During her participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the strong bond between Turkiye and Pakistan, calling the two nations “brothers.” In her meeting with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, the leaders focused on enhancing mutual cooperation in areas such as education, economic partnerships, and skill development.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of advancing joint educational initiatives and boosting bilateral trade. They also discussed the exchange of skilled labor and the mapping of global skills, aiming to foster greater collaboration in these fields. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz outlined her plans for education and skill development in Punjab, underlining her commitment to improving opportunities for the province’s youth.

The Turkish Vice President expressed gratitude for the Chief Minister’s participation in the forum and her efforts to strengthen Pakistan-Turkey ties. He also extended an invitation to visit Punjab, which Maryam Nawaz gladly accepted. During the forum, the Chief Minister also attended a cultural show, invited by Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan, where she explored Turkish costumes and cultural items, showing a strong interest in the rich heritage.
The exchange underscored the mutual respect and shared aspirations between the two nations, further solidifying the partnership between Turkiye and Pakistan.
