Punjab e-Biz Portal: Fast & Easy Business Registration Guide

Punjab e-Biz Portal Fast & Easy Business Registration Guide

Punjab government has announced a major expansion of the e-Biz Portal, aiming to bring over 200 business and administrative services online by February 1. The initiative seeks to reduce long queues and repeated office visits, offering a faster, more transparent process for citizens and businesses.

Developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), the e-Biz Portal is central to the provincial government’s Ease of Doing Business policy. Officials say the platform will save time and money while reducing corruption and improving service delivery.

The e-Biz Portal is a one-window digital platform that allows citizens and business owners to access permits, registrations, and licenses in a single place. It eliminates the need to visit multiple offices, fill out separate forms, and pay different fees. The portal covers a wide range of business services, including industrial licensing, investment approvals, and construction permits, making processes faster and more transparent.

Currently, the portal includes services from several departments:

  • Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department: Tax and registration services
  • Industries Department: Business registration and industrial permits
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): Environmental approvals
  • Building Control and Development Authorities: Construction plan approvals
  • Professional Tax & Fees: Online applications
  • Land Use Permissions: Certain land-related permissions

Officials have promised that by March 1, the portal will host 310 services, making nearly all major provincial services available on a single platform.

Citizens and businesses can register on the e-Biz Portal at ebiz.punjab.gov.pk using their CNIC, email, and basic personal information. Once registered, users can submit documents, pay fees digitally, and track applications online. Automated inter-departmental verifications will further reduce delays.

Officials stress that the e-Biz Portal is more than a convenience; it is a potential game-changer for investment in Punjab. By minimizing human intervention, the platform aims to cut red tape, corruption, and bureaucratic inefficiencies.

Experts note that its success depends on full departmental integration and user-friendliness, but if implemented correctly, Punjab could set a national benchmark for digital governance and business facilitation.
