LAHORE – The Punjab government has announced a major step toward cleaner transport with a new electric bike scheme. The plan aims to reduce pollution and promote affordable travel options for the public.

In the first phase, around 10,000 electric bikes will be introduced in Lahore. These bikes will be available for public rental use. Authorities believe this will improve daily commuting for students, workers, and general users.
The electric bike scheme will also include the establishment of 300 docking and charging stations across the city. These stations will support easy access and smooth operation of the service. The Punjab Housing Authority (PHA) will provide land for these facilities.
