Punjab Launches Online System For Easy Access To Land Records

The Punjab government has introduced a new digital service that allows citizens to access property records online without visiting government offices. The initiative aims to make land ownership information more transparent, secure, and convenient for the public.

The new ROD (Record of Deed) portal provides instant access to land documents. Users can open the portal from home and download the required records in a few seconds. This service reduces the need for referrals and removes long waiting lines at government offices.

Accessing property records online is simple. Citizens only need to visit the official portal and enter the required details. The system then generates the Record of Deed document, which can be downloaded immediately. The government believes this will make the process more efficient and reduce delays that previously affected thousands of applicants.

Before this digital shift, people had to rely on manual procedures. Many faced long queues and repeated visits to offices to obtain land details. The new portal has simplified the entire process, offering an easy and user-friendly solution.

The provincial government also expects the system to help control the activities of land grabbers. Digital data storage makes ownership and possession records more secure. It also ensures that the information remains tamper-proof and verifiable.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has introduced several reforms to make land management more transparent. Her administration has focused on using technology to close loopholes that allowed land mafias to misuse manual record-keeping systems. The launch of property records online is seen as a major step in this direction.

Officials say the digital platform will continue to improve with new features. The goal is to offer complete land-related services on one portal. The government hopes that residents will benefit from the convenience and security that the online system provides.

This new initiative marks an important milestone in Punjab’s ongoing efforts to modernize public services and strengthen public trust in land management.
