The Punjab government has announced strict measures against illegal dumping of Animal Waste during Eid ul Adha. The decision aims to keep cities clean and reduce health risks. Authorities have warned citizens to follow proper waste disposal rules.
Officials said that anyone found dumping Animal Waste on roads, in drains, or public places will face a heavy fine. The government has set a penalty of Rs. 50,000. Legal action will also be taken against violators. The move is part of a wider cleanliness campaign across the province.
The decision was shared during a high-level visit to the Suthra Punjab Authority headquarters. Local Government Secretary Shakeel Ahmad Mian chaired the review meeting. Director General Babar Sahib Din also attended the session. The meeting focused on Eid cleanliness preparations and waste management planning.
Officials from district-level Suthra Punjab agencies joined the meeting through video link. They were instructed to prepare detailed sanitation plans for each tehsil. The aim is to manage Animal Waste efficiently during the busy Eid period.
Authorities were also directed to deploy extra staff and machinery. This will ensure timely collection and disposal of waste. Special attention will be given to cattle markets, mosques, and Eidgahs where large crowds gather.
Before Eid, all waste collection points and machinery will go through fitness checks. Officials stressed that no faulty equipment will be used during the operation. Backup systems will also be kept ready.
A central control room has already been established for monitoring. It will track sanitation activities across the province in real time. The system will help manage complaints and operational delays quickly.
According to officials, teams will remain active in the field for 72 continuous hours during Eid. Emergency response units will also stay on alert in every district.
