Pakistan’s First AI-Powered Government System Set to Launch in Punjab

Punjab is set to introduce a modern governance model based on advanced technology. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a major plan to shift the government system toward an AI-Powered structure.

Under this initiative, the Chief Minister’s Office will be transformed into an “AI Office of CM.” This will be the first office in Pakistan to operate fully through artificial intelligence. The move aims to improve decision-making and public service delivery.

The plan was reviewed during a high-level meeting led by senior officials. Advisors provided a detailed briefing on the progress of “AI Vision 2029” and the “Office of AI Punjab.” These projects are designed to build a strong digital governance system.

A central part of the plan is the creation of an AI-Powered Delivery Unit. This unit will connect all government departments to a single platform. The goal is to create a unified and efficient system for managing data and services.

Officials said that data analytics and smart monitoring will play a key role. AI dashboards will help track performance and improve transparency. A central command and control system will also be introduced to support quick decision-making.

The AI-Powered model will not only improve governance but also benefit the public. Faster service delivery and better resource management are expected. Authorities believe this system will reduce delays and improve accountability.

The initiative also focuses on youth development. Plans include setting up an AI academy to train young people in modern technologies. This step aims to create new job opportunities and support skill development in Punjab.

International partners are expected to assist in implementing the project. Their support will help speed up the adoption of advanced systems across multiple sectors.

The roadmap covers key areas such as health, education, agriculture, and policing. Existing Safe City projects are already using modern tools to enhance public safety. Virtual police stations for women and children are also part of the system.

Officials believe this AI-Powered transformation will set a new standard for governance. It could become a model for other provinces and countries in the region.
