A man in Rawalpindi has taken his case to the consumer court, alleging that a local boutique sold him an old sherwani instead of a newly designed one for his cousin’s wedding.
The citizen, Usman Shabbir, sent a compensation notice to the boutique owner seeking Rs500,000. Shabbir claimed that the owner had asked for Rs20,000 to design a new sherwani, and after paying an advance of Rs15,000, he received an old sherwani instead.
The district consumer court has summoned the boutique owner to appear on January 2, 2024. Sherwani is a traditional knee-length coat worn by men in South Asia, often at weddings.Top of Form
