The ongoing monsoon season in Punjab has resulted in at least 11 fatalities and 35 injuries due to multiple rain-related incidents, as per a comprehensive report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Saturday.
Covering the timeframe from June 25 to June 27, the report outlines 25 separate incidents triggered by heavy downpours and gusty winds. Most casualties occurred due to the collapse of roofs and boundary walls — a common risk during intense seasonal rains.

According to a PDMA spokesperson, incidents were reported from various districts including Faisalabad, Bahawalnagar, and Khanewal. Emergency teams were dispatched promptly to the affected areas to manage the situation and assist victims.
Director General PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia expressed sorrow over the loss of life and instructed local officials to provide quality medical care to those injured. He also announced that, on Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s directives, financial aid would be extended to the families of the deceased.
Kathia further urged the public to steer clear of dilapidated or structurally weak buildings, warning that such properties become especially dangerous during periods of heavy rainfall.
The PDMA has forecasted that the current spell of monsoon rain will likely persist until July 1. Citizens have been advised to remain vigilant and adhere to safety protocols to avoid potential harm.
