Punjab CM Wants New Hospitals Ready Fast - Here's Why

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed authorities to speed up work on new Hospitals across the province. She issued clear deadlines to ensure health projects are completed without delay. The move aims to improve access to quality medical care.

According to official details, several major health facilities are nearing completion. These include the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital and the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Institute in Sargodha. The chief minister reviewed progress and set firm timelines for opening.

In Lahore, Maryam Nawaz ordered the immediate opening of two key medical centers. She directed that the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital and the Jinnah Cardiology Institute open within the current month. Officials were told to remove all remaining hurdles.

Construction work at the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research has reached advanced stages. The basement and ground floor are already complete. Patient waiting areas have also been prepared. A mosque and residential facilities for doctors are ready as well.

Pakistan’s first Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research is expected to start operations later this month. Recruitment of doctors and professional staff has already begun. Administrative arrangements are being finalized.

The chief minister said these Hospitals will serve patients from across the country. She stressed that cancer patients often face long travel and treatment delays. The new facilities aim to reduce this burden.

Maryam Nawaz also issued special instructions regarding Lady Willingdon Hospital. She ordered construction work to be completed at the earliest. Officials were asked to ensure quality standards during the final phase.

Health department sources said these projects reflect a wider healthcare expansion plan. New Hospitals are being developed to meet rising demand. The focus remains on cancer and cardiac care.

The chief minister emphasized patient welfare as a priority. She said timely completion will help save lives. She added that healthcare reforms are central to the provincial agenda.
