Former NA Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri Says He Drives Uber in US

Former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Suri has revealed that he is currently working as an Uber driver in the United States. He said financial difficulties forced him to take this step after leaving Pakistan.

Qasim Suri shared his situation during a conversation with journalist Ali Hasnain Malik. He spoke openly about the challenges he is facing abroad. He said life in the US has not been easy for him financially.

โ€œI am facing financial hardships here,โ€ he said. โ€œI never imagined I would do this kind of work. I am driving Uber.โ€ He added that he chose honesty and hard work over any illegal means of earning.

Qasim Suri is a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He has long been associated with the political ideology of PTI founder Imran Khan. He made it clear that his political stance has not changed despite his current struggles.

He said he continues to stand by Imran Khanโ€™s vision. He described himself as a political worker rather than a privileged politician. According to him, loyalty to principles matters more than position or status.

While discussing his journey, Qasim Suri referred to what he called injustice in Pakistan. He pointed to the legal cases faced by Imran Khan and his family. He said these issues reflect broader problems in the country.

Suri also spoke about his past role in Pakistan. He said he once held a responsible position at the Capital Development Authority in Islamabad. However, he stressed that he never used his position to build personal wealth.

โ€œBy the grace of Allah, I did not even own a flat there,โ€ he said. He added that he always lived a modest life and maintained dignity. He described himself as a middle-class Pakistani.

He recalled that before 2018, he hosted senior political figures at his home in Quetta. These included Imran Khan and Dr. Arif Alvi. He said this showed the simple but respectful life he lived.

Despite his current situation, Qasim Suri said he sleeps peacefully at night. However, he admitted that emotional pain remains. โ€œThe struggle burns in my heart like fire,โ€ he said.
