A powerful explosion near Chaman Phatak in Quetta caused panic and chaos after a blast struck close to a busy railway track, injuring more than 20 people and damaging a passenger train along with several vehicles.
According to police officials, the Railway Track Bl@st occurred in a crowded area where traffic and commuters were present at the time of the incident. The explosion damaged a moving train and around 10 nearby vehicles. Witnesses said the blast created fear among residents and passengers as loud shockwaves spread across the area.
Authorities stated that the intensity of the Railway Track Bl@st shattered windows of nearby buildings and caused damage in surrounding streets. Rescue teams and security personnel immediately rushed to the location to assist the injured and secure the area.
Law enforcement agencies sealed off the site soon after the incident. Forensic experts also arrived to collect evidence and begin investigations under strict security arrangements.
Railway officials confirmed that the Jaffar Express, which was heading toward Peshawar, was stopped at Quetta railway station following the explosion. The incident caused major disruption to railway operations and left several passengers stranded for hours.
Officials later said the situation had been brought under control, but investigations were still ongoing to determine the exact nature and cause of the Railway Track Bl@st.
Authorities linked the attack to elements associated with Fitna Al Hindustan. Officials described the incident as a desperate attempt by militants following recent setbacks faced by extremist groups in Balochistan.
According to officials, the explosion targeted a civilian passenger train and created a fire risk that endangered the lives of women, children, and elderly passengers. They said such groups have increasingly targeted innocent civilians and soft targets after failing to directly confront security forces.
Rescue workers launched evacuation operations immediately after the blast. Injured individuals were shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Security teams also carried out search operations in the surrounding areas to prevent any further threat.
Officials reiterated that such attacks would not weaken the country’s resolve against terrorism. Authorities vowed to continue operations aimed at ensuring peace, stability, and security across Balochistan.
