The federal government has introduced the Ramadan Relief Package under the name 9999 PM Ramadan Package 2026 to support low-income families facing rising prices and financial pressure.
The initiative uses a digital CNIC-based system to distribute financial assistance directly to eligible households. This system removes the need for long queues and complicated paperwork, making the process simple and transparent. Families can check their eligibility and receive support through a fast SMS-based verification method.
To apply for the Ramadan Relief Package, applicants need to send their CNIC number to 9999 via SMS. After sending the message, they receive confirmation from the official system along with their eligibility status.
The service works across all major mobile networks and is free of charge. Authorities have advised people to use only official channels and avoid scams or unauthorized agents claiming to offer assistance.
Eligibility criteria include holding a valid ID card and belonging to a low-income household. Applicants must not be active taxpayers or government employees.
Their data must match official welfare records for approval. Households already registered in social protection databases may receive priority, but final eligibility depends on verification through the system.
The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) reviewed funding for the program and discussed a proposal requesting Rs 25 billion for the initiative. The committee approved the immediate release of Rs 19 billion to start disbursements, while additional funds will be released as required.
The total value of the package is Rs 39 billion, with Rs 10 billion already allocated through BISP. The remaining amount will be covered through supplementary grants and re-appropriated funds to ensure full financing.
