Rumours Swirl Over Nawaz-Imran Jail Meeting, Both Sides Deny

Speculation of a possible meeting between PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail has been firmly rejected by both parties. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf dismissed the reports as media rumours, stating that no formal proposal has been received.

PTI sources made it clear that any decision on such a meeting would ultimately rest with Imran Khan himself. They questioned the sincerity of reconciliation efforts, citing ongoing political manoeuvres like the alleged manipulation of reserved seats.

Meanwhile, the federal government continued to advocate for dialogue and goodwill. Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s symbolic handshake with PTI leaders during the budget session as a gesture of openness.

However, senior PML-N figures including Rana Sanaullah and Salman Akram Raja denied any plans by Nawaz Sharif to visit Adiala Jail. They emphasised that while political dialogue is important, no such meeting is on the cards for now.
