Saudi Arabia Launches New “Hajj Without Luggage” Service for 2026 Pilgrimage

Saudi Arabia Launches New “Hajj Without Luggage” Service for 2026 Pilgrimage

Saudi Arabia has introduced a new service to improve travel for pilgrims during Hajj 2026. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the launch of the “Hajj Without Luggage” initiative to make the pilgrimage easier and more organized.

The new system will allow pilgrims to send their luggage directly from their home countries to their accommodation in Saudi Arabia. This step is designed to reduce travel stress during the busy Hajj season.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said the service was introduced in partnership with the General Authority of Civil Aviation and several organizations involved in Hajj operations. The goal is to improve movement and reduce delays for pilgrims arriving in the Kingdom.

Under this system, approved logistics companies will collect luggage from departure airports. The baggage will then be transported to Saudi Arabia and delivered directly to hotels in Makkah and Madinah.

The delivery process will cover arrivals through major airports, including Jeddah and Madinah. Pilgrims will no longer need to wait at baggage claim areas after landing.

Officials said this measure will help pilgrims move directly to transportation buses upon arrival. This is expected to reduce congestion at airports during peak Hajj travel days.

Saudi airline Saudia has confirmed its participation in the project. The airline stated that the service will support more than 400,000 pilgrims traveling from 145 destinations.

Saudi Post has also joined the initiative. It will assist with baggage transportation and delivery both within Saudi Arabia and from international entry points.

According to officials, the service is expected to manage nearly 1.1 million bags. These bags will come from seven countries included in the Makkah Route Initiative.

Authorities added that luggage is expected to reach hotels within 24 hours of arrival. This will allow pilgrims to focus on their spiritual journey instead of handling heavy baggage.

The new service reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to modernize Hajj operations. It also aims to improve comfort and efficiency for millions of pilgrims visiting the holy sites each year.
