Saudi Arabia is encouraging major companies to increase the recruitment of Pakistani workers, potentially creating more overseas employment opportunities for Pakistanis, according to a leading recruitment industry representative.

Issam Baig, chairman of overseas recruitment company Jan Mohammad & Sons, shared the development after visiting Riyadh and Jeddah, where he met executives from several major Saudi businesses.

Baig said representatives of three to four large companies informed him that the Saudi government was encouraging businesses to recruit more Pakistani employees.

According to him, Saudi authorities and relevant ministries have urged companies to accommodate additional workers from Pakistan. However, the companies have not announced specific hiring targets or the number of new positions expected.

Saudi Companies Show Interest in Hiring Pakistani Workers

Baig described the development as a positive sign for Pakistan’s overseas employment sector and its workforce relationship with Saudi Arabia.

He said the discussions highlighted the importance of Pakistani manpower in the Kingdom’s labour market.

However, he also stressed that Pakistan must focus on providing skilled, trained and qualified workers to meet the requirements of Saudi employers.

Maintaining workforce quality, he explained, would help strengthen employers’ confidence and support long-term recruitment opportunities.

The reported government encouragement could benefit Pakistani professionals and skilled workers looking for employment in different sectors of the Saudi economy.

Saudi Arabia Remains the Leading Destination for Pakistani Workers

Saudi Arabia continues to be the most popular overseas employment destination for Pakistani workers.

According to figures from the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BE&OE), approximately 1.87 million Pakistanis registered for overseas employment between January 2024 and September 2026.

More than 1.21 million of these workers registered for employment in Saudi Arabia, accounting for nearly 65 percent of total registrations during the period.

The annual figures also show continued demand for Pakistani manpower in the Kingdom.

Around 426,951 Pakistani workers registered for Saudi employment in 2023. The number increased to 452,648 in 2024 before reaching 530,437 in 2025.

During the first nine months of 2026, another 258,178 Pakistanis registered for employment in Saudi Arabia.

These figures underline the Kingdom’s importance as a major destination for Pakistan’s overseas workforce.

Pakistan Reviews Overseas Employment Trends

The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment is also monitoring recruitment developments across the Middle East.

A senior official said the government was examining changing employment patterns to assess future opportunities and prepare projections for Pakistani workers seeking jobs abroad.

Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries continue to provide employment opportunities across multiple industries.

Overseas employment also plays an important role in supporting Pakistan’s economy through workers’ remittances.

Pakistan received a record $41.6 billion in workers’ remittances during the financial year 2025–26, providing financial support to households and contributing to the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

What This Means for Pakistani Job Seekers

The reported encouragement from Saudi authorities could open the door to additional recruitment opportunities for Pakistani workers.

However, no official announcement has confirmed the number of new vacancies, specific industries or recruitment timelines.

Job seekers should therefore avoid treating the development as a confirmed hiring announcement.

Those interested in Saudi employment should monitor the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment, licensed overseas employment promoters and official recruitment announcements.

Applicants should also verify job offers, employment contracts and recruitment agencies before paying any fees or submitting personal documents.
