Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has introduced a new Umrah Visa that allows pilgrims to enter the Kingdom multiple times within one year. The initiative is designed to make religious travel more convenient while improving services for visitors.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the new Umrah Visa will remain valid for 365 days from the date of issuance. During this period, travelers can make multiple visits to Saudi Arabia, provided they meet the country’s immigration and regulatory requirements.
Under the new policy, pilgrims can stay in the Kingdom for a total of up to 90 days across all their visits. The multiple-entry system offers greater flexibility for those planning more than one Umrah trip within a year.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said the initiative is part of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Pilgrim Experience Program. These national programs aim to improve the overall experience for pilgrims by making travel procedures simpler and more efficient.
Officials believe the updated Umrah Visa system will help streamline the journey for international visitors. The goal is to provide easier access while maintaining organized travel procedures for pilgrims arriving from different countries.
Before each visit, visa holders must purchase a service package through the Nusuk platform. The package must be obtained from an approved service provider before traveling to Saudi Arabia.
Authorities clarified that the validity of the selected service package cannot exceed the remaining validity of the visa itself. Pilgrims must ensure that both their visa and service package remain valid before every trip.
In addition to the service package, travelers are required to obtain an official Umrah permit through the Nusuk mobile application before arriving in Saudi Arabia. This permit is mandatory for performing Umrah under the new system.
The Ministry also explained how the visa will operate after each journey. The Umrah Visa will automatically become inactive once the visitor leaves Saudi Arabia. It will only be reactivated before the next visit after all required conditions have been fulfilled.
Officials also announced that the visa cannot be used during the annual Hajj season. It will remain inactive from the first day of Dhu Al Qadah until the 13th of Dhu Al Hijjah, when Hajj operations are underway.
The new visa policy reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to modernize pilgrimage services through digital platforms and simplified procedures. The use of the Nusuk platform is expected to improve coordination between pilgrims and approved service providers.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah encouraged travelers to carefully review all requirements before planning their journey. Pilgrims should complete the necessary visa, permit, and service package procedures in advance to avoid delays.
