The Sindh College Education Department has announced the SECCAP Class XI Merit List for the 2026-27 academic session. The Merit List was released on July 22, allowing students to check their admission status for government colleges in Karachi.
Students who applied through the SECCAP admission system can now view their results online. The official portal provides details about the college allotted to each student, along with the assigned study group and shift.
The newly released Merit List is an important step in the admission process for thousands of students seeking enrollment in government colleges. Candidates only need to enter the required information on the official SECCAP result portal to access their admission details.
This year, the admission process received a strong response from students across Sindh. More than 160,000 applications were submitted for admission to government colleges. Karachi recorded the highest number of applicants, reflecting the increasing demand for public sector higher education in the city.
Officials said the large number of applications highlights the growing interest among students in continuing their education after matriculation. Government colleges remain a preferred choice for many families because of affordable education and a wide range of academic programs.
The new academic session for Class XI is scheduled to begin on August 1, 2026. Students who have been allotted colleges are advised to complete the remaining admission formalities before classes start.
Among the available study groups, Computer Science remained one of the most popular choices during this year’s admission process. A large number of applicants selected the subject due to increasing interest in technology-related education and career opportunities.
SECCAP has also provided guidance for students who are not satisfied with their college allotment. Officials said candidates who believe their assigned college does not match the official cutoff criteria should not worry.
According to the department, a Claim option will be activated on the SECCAP portal within one to two days. This feature will allow eligible students to request a review of their allotted college if they believe there has been an error in the placement process.
Authorities encouraged students to carefully review their admission details before submitting any claim. They also advised applicants to keep checking the official portal for updates regarding claim submissions and other admission announcements.
Education officials said the review process is designed to ensure fairness and transparency in the allocation of colleges. Eligible students whose claims are accepted may receive revised allotments based on the official merit criteria.
