Pakistan added 4,761 registered companies in August 2026, according to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.
The new incorporations increased the country’s total number of registered companies to 311,765.
Almost the entire registration process took place digitally. SECP said 99.9% of companies were registered online during August.
Three foreign companies also entered Pakistan during the month.
Private Companies Lead New Incorporations
Private companies accounted for the largest share of August registrations. SECP registered 2,762 private companies, while another 1,846 were incorporated as single-member companies.
The figures show that these two company structures dominated new registrations during the month.
IT Sector Records Highest Registrations
Information Technology led Pakistan’s sectors with 872 newly registered companies. Trading ranked second with 732 registrations, followed by services with 601.
The construction sector added 295 companies, while tourism recorded another 232 registrations. The figures placed technology clearly ahead of other sectors for new incorporations during August.
Punjab Tops Company Registrations
Punjab recorded the largest number of new companies among Pakistan’s regions. The province accounted for 2,547 registrations during August.
Islamabad followed with 843 new companies, while Sindh recorded 702. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa registered 407 companies. Gilgit-Baltistan added 151, while Balochistan recorded 111 new registrations.
Chinese Investors Lead Foreign Participation
Foreign investors also participated in companies incorporated during August. SECP reported 134 foreign investors investing in newly registered businesses.
Chinese investors represented the largest group, accounting for 106 of those investors. The figures provide another indicator of Chinese participation in Pakistan’s corporate sector.
August Follows Record-Breaking July
August’s company registrations came immediately after a record month for SECP.
The regulator registered 5,438 companies in July 2026, the highest monthly incorporation figure recorded at that time. August’s 4,761 registrations were therefore 677 lower than July’s record.
Despite the monthly decline, thousands of businesses continued entering Pakistan’s formal corporate sector.
