Senior Journalist Hamid Mir Petitions Islamabad High Court Against Internet Firewall

Senior journalist Hamid Mir has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court against the recent internet slowdown and the proposed installation of a new firewall.

Represented by lawyer Imaan Mazari, Mir has named the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Ministry for Human Rights as respondents in the case.

The petition seeks to halt the firewall installation until proper consultation with stakeholders takes place and measures to protect fundamental rights are established.
