Sindh CM Announces 14-Day Independence Celebrations

Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah has declared a 14-day Independence Day celebration across the province, running from August 1 to August 14, 2025. The festivities will be held under the dual theme of “Independence Day” and “Marka-e-Haq” (Battle of Truth), highlighting Pakistan’s national achievements and the sacrifices made for the country’s sovereignty.

The announcement was made during a press conference in Karachi, where Sindh CM Shah emphasized that this extended celebration demonstrates a unified effort by both federal and provincial governments to commemorate the nation’s independence. He noted that the decision was made in coordination with the federal government to reinforce the importance of national independence.

The celebrations will feature a variety of events, including flag-hoisting ceremonies, parades, cultural shows, and community engagement programs throughout the province. Major cities such as Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana will host high-footfall events like walkathons, youth rallies, and public gatherings. District administrations and educational institutions have been urged to organize local events, debates, and competitions to promote awareness about Pakistan’s history and civic values among students.

In support of the celebrations, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori met with a delegation from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to discuss preparations. Governor Tessori emphasized the importance of the business community’s participation in the “Marka-e-Haq” campaign and stated that it is a collective responsibility to celebrate the occasion in a dignified manner.

Sindh CM Shah assured that the police, rangers, and Pakistan Army are fully prepared to maintain public safety during the celebrations. He also called on the media to support the campaign by highlighting individuals, homes, vehicles, shops, and public buildings decorated for Independence Day.

This initiative aims to foster a sense of national pride and unity among the people of Sindh, celebrating the nation’s independence and the collective efforts that have contributed to its sovereignty.
