Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has announced a major plan to provide cheaper electricity to households and industries. The initiative aims to reduce energy costs and improve power supply across the province.
The announcement came during a meeting with Danish Ambassador Maja Derrous Mortensen at the CM House in Karachi. Both sides discussed investment opportunities, renewable energy, and environmental cooperation.
The chief minister said the provincial government is working on a new system for electricity generation and distribution. A Sindh-run transmission company will help deliver power more efficiently. This system is expected to support cheaper electricity for consumers.
He explained that reducing line losses and improving efficiency are key goals. These improvements will help lower overall electricity costs. The government believes this will also support industrial growth.
Murad Ali Shah said the main objective is to ensure cheaper electricity for both homes and businesses. He added that affordable energy will improve economic activity and create better living conditions.
He also highlighted Sindhโs strong potential in renewable energy. The coastal region has high wind energy capacity. He said this makes the province suitable for clean energy development.
The chief minister invited Danish companies to invest in wind power and green energy projects. He said such investments could support long-term plans for cheaper electricity production in the province.
Ambassador Mortensen showed interest in Sindhโs renewable energy sector. She said Denmark is ready to support sustainable energy projects. She also noted that cooperation could open new investment opportunities.
The meeting also discussed coastal development plans. One key project is the upgrade of Keti Bandar into a deep-sea port. Officials believe this could boost trade and reduce pressure on Karachi ports.
Murad Ali Shah said Keti Bandar could become an important economic hub. He added that better infrastructure will support regional trade and development.
Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in energy and infrastructure. They also reaffirmed commitment to improving Pakistan-Denmark relations.
The discussions ended with mutual interest in expanding renewable energy projects. Officials believe these efforts will help ensure long-term access to cheaper electricity and support sustainable growth in Sindh.
