Sindh Records 819 New Dengue Cases in 24 Hours

Sindh has reported a significant rise in dengue cases, with 819 new infections recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the provincial health department. Karachi remains the most affected city, reporting 522 confirmed cases, while Hyderabad recorded 297 new infections.

During the same period, a total of 4,562 dengue tests were conducted across public and private laboratories in the province. Health officials emphasized that no dengue-related deaths have been reported so far, highlighting the effectiveness of ongoing monitoring and treatment efforts.

Hospital admissions have also seen a rise due to the increase in dengue cases. In Karachi, 73 patients were admitted to government hospitals, and 35 patients sought treatment in private hospitals. Across Sindh, a total of 135 dengue patients are currently receiving medical care. Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as new data becomes available.

The provincial health department has urged residents to take precautionary measures to prevent mosquito bites, which are the primary cause of dengue transmission. Citizens are advised to keep their surroundings clean, remove stagnant water, and use mosquito repellents and nets. Public awareness campaigns are ongoing to educate people about early symptoms and the importance of seeking timely medical attention.

Officials also stressed the importance of reporting suspected dengue cases promptly to avoid further spread. Rapid testing and early treatment have been credited with preventing fatalities in the recent surge.

As the weather continues to support mosquito breeding, authorities warn that dengue cases may rise further in the coming weeks. Hospitals and clinics have been instructed to ensure adequate medical supplies and staff are available to handle any increase in patients.
