Karachi Facing Extreme Heat, Light Rain Is Forecasted Soon

Karachi’s weather is expected to stay extremely hot today, with temperatures reaching up to 39 degrees Celsius, according to the Met Department. The lack of sea breezes has led to high humidity, creating uncomfortable conditions for residents. Currently, the temperature is 34 degrees Celsius, but high humidity at 66% makes it feel closer to 40 degrees. The Met Department noted that this absence of sea breezes intensifies the heat.

Over the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature recorded was 30.5 degrees Celsius, with the Met Office highlighting humidity’s role in increasing the perceived heat. However, there is hope for relief, as light rain and drizzle are forecasted for later this evening or tonight.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid sun exposure during peak hours. Meanwhile, most of Pakistan will continue to experience hot and humid weather, although rain is expected in parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. Islamabad is also likely to see rainfall this evening.

In Balochistan, thunderstorms may occur in Zhob and Qila Saifullah, while Sindh could see rain in areas like Tharparkar and Mirpur Khas. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected rain across several districts.
