A traffic police spokesperson noted that heavy machinery was needed to remove the car from under the tanker, while rescuers struggled with a large crowd of spectators.

The victim was identified as Asad Ali Zaidi, a 48-year-old senior editor at a private TV channel. The driver of the tanker fled the scene.

To aid the rescue, traffic police closed the bridge from Qayyumabad to Baloch Colony. Fire officer Zulfiqar Ali from Manzoor Colony Fire Station highlighted the fire risk due to the kerosene spill.

The rescue operation took two and a half hours, with the body being transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). The tanker could not be removed until it was emptied of kerosene, and the fire brigade stayed on-site until it was cleared.
