Six family members found dead in Chakwal: police

A devastating incident has shaken Muzdalfa Town, Chakwal, as six members of a single family were tragically discovered dead, prompting a swift response from authorities. The distressing episode began when Muhammad Shafqat Salim made a harrowing call to the 15 helpline, revealing that he had taken the lives of his wife and children.

 

The victims include Shafqat Salim’s wife, aged between 50 and 55 years old, along with two daughters aged 14 and 16, and two sons aged 13 and 7. Disturbingly, after the heinous act, Shafqat Salim took his own life.

Chakwal District Police Officer (DPO) Capt Wahid Mahmood, along with the Saddar Circle deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and the station house officer (SHO) of City Police Station, swiftly responded to the distress call. The area was cordoned off, and forensic teams, including the Crime Scene Unit and the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA), were called in.

 

The bodies were transferred to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Despite the prompt response and ongoing investigations, the motives behind this tragic incident remain unclear. The DPO has refrained from disclosing further details as the investigation is still in progress.

 

As the community grapples with shock and grief, authorities are appealing for anyone with information that may assist in the investigation to come forward. The profound impact of this unfathomable tragedy has left the community in mourning, seeking answers to an incident that defies understanding.
