The Supreme Judicial Commission (SJC) has scheduled three important meetings on December 2 at the Supreme Court. The sessions will focus on key judicial appointments across Pakistan.
According to the official agenda, the first meeting will begin at 1:30 PM, followed by the second at 2:00 PM, and the third at 2:30 PM. Each session will address different judicial appointments, including high courts and the Supreme Court itself.
The first session will review the appointment of the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court. The commission will consider the names of the three most senior judges for the position. Among those under discussion are Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.
The second meeting will focus on the appointment of the Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court. Similar to the first session, the top three senior judges of the Balochistan High Court will be evaluated for possible elevation.
In the third session, the SJC will deliberate on appointing a judge from the Islamabad High Court to the Supreme Court. This session marks another significant step in maintaining the judiciary’s structure and ensuring experienced judges are promoted to key positions.
