The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a 48-hour gas shutdown for the industrial and CNG sectors. The suspension will start at 8:00 AM on January 24 and continue until 8:00 AM on January 26.
According to SSGC, gas supply to all industriesโincluding Captive Power Plantsโand all CNG stations, including those running on RLNG, will be temporarily halted. The gas shutdown aims to maintain maximum pressure for residential and commercial consumers during the peak winter season.
The utility company stated that the measure is necessary due to a surge in demand for gas in households. SSGC reassured residents that their staff is on high alert to quickly resolve any complaints.
Consumers experiencing low gas pressure during the shutdown are advised to contact the SSGC 24/7 helpline at 1199 for assistance. The company emphasized that residential and commercial users will continue to follow routine load management schedules from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM daily.
Officials urged industries and CNG stations to plan ahead and make necessary adjustments during the gas shutdown period. The SSGC emphasized that this temporary suspension is essential to ensure consistent gas supply for households, especially in areas experiencing extremely cold weather.
The company also reminded residents that maintaining gas pressure is a priority, and the temporary suspension will help avoid extended outages. Authorities encouraged consumers to report any issues immediately for prompt resolution.
This gas shutdown reflects SSGCโs proactive measures to balance supply and demand during the high-consumption winter months, ensuring that homes receive uninterrupted gas services while industrial usage is temporarily limited.
