The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) of Pakistan has announced its historic collaboration with China for the Chang’E 8 lunar mission, which is set to launch in 2028. This partnership represents a significant milestone in Pakistan’s space exploration efforts.
As part of the collaboration, SUPARCO will contribute an indigenous 35-kilogram rover, which will land on the lunar south pole—a region known for its unique terrain and potential for groundbreaking scientific discoveries. The rover, designed with advanced scientific instruments, will conduct various experiments, including the study of lunar soil, surface mapping, and testing technologies crucial for sustaining future human presence on the Moon.
