KARACHI โ A shocking incident unfolded in Orangi Town when a mob set a suspected robber on fire following a fatal robbery attempt.
The tragedy occurred near Sector 7-F on Monday morning. Abdul Hannan, a local resident, was leaving for work around 8 am when two robbers confronted him. During the struggle, the robbers shot Hannan dead, eyewitnesses said.
Residents quickly intervened and managed to seize one of the suspects, while the accomplice escaped. The captured suspect was tied to an electricity pole, beaten by enraged locals, and eventually set ablaze.
Police arrived after the suspect was already burning. The injured man was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities registered two separate cases: one for the murder of Abdul Hannan and another against the suspected robber involved in the deadly robbery attempt. Hannanโs father-in-law filed the FIR, stating that Hannan resisted the mugging before being shot.
The police confirmed that investigations are ongoing, including efforts to track the escaped accomplice. Officials emphasized the importance of law enforcement intervention to prevent such mob actions in the future.
This incident has sparked outrage on social media and in local communities, highlighting both the dangers of violent robbery attempts and the risks of taking justice into oneโs own hands.
