Swat Administration Seals All Illegal Ziplines Following Safety Crackdown

Swat District Administration has sealed all illegal ziplines operating in several popular tourist destinations as part of a safety crackdown. Officials said the action was taken to improve tourist security and ensure that adventure activities meet legal and safety standards.

According to the district administration, the operation was carried out in collaboration with the Swat Development Authority. Authorities inspected zipline facilities in Mahodand, Saifullah Lake, Chashma Shafa Aabshar, and other tourist locations across the district.

During the inspections, officials found that several zipline operators were running their businesses without obtaining the required No-Objection Certificate (NoC). As a result, all unauthorized ziplines were sealed immediately.

The administration said operating adventure rides without official approval poses serious safety risks for visitors. Officials stressed that every operator must complete all legal and technical requirements before offering services to the public.

The move is part of broader efforts to improve tourist safety in Swat, one of Pakistan’s most visited travel destinations. Thousands of local and international tourists visit the valley every year to enjoy its natural beauty and outdoor attractions.

Authorities instructed all zipline operators not to restart their businesses until they obtain the necessary permissions and comply with all security regulations. Officials warned that anyone violating the orders could face legal action.

The district administration said the inspections are intended to ensure that all adventure tourism activities meet established safety standards. Proper licensing and safety checks are considered essential to reduce risks for tourists.

Officials explained that obtaining an NoC confirms that an operator has fulfilled legal requirements and implemented necessary safety measures. These include proper installation, regular maintenance, and compliance with operational guidelines.

The latest operation reflects the government’s growing focus on protecting visitors at tourist sites. Adventure activities have become increasingly popular, making stronger safety oversight more important than ever.

The administration also emphasized that public safety remains its highest priority. Regular inspections will continue to ensure that tourism facilities operate responsibly and in accordance with the law.

Authorities said similar enforcement actions may be taken against any tourism business found violating official regulations. They urged operators to complete all required procedures before resuming commercial activities.

The crackdown comes as Swat continues to attract large numbers of tourists during the travel season. Officials believe that stricter enforcement of safety regulations will help improve visitor confidence and reduce the risk of accidents.

The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe environment for tourists. Officials said operations against illegal facilities will continue across the district whenever violations are identified.
