The government has distributed financial assistance to the families affected by the Tarlai blast in Islamabad. The attack took place at the Tarlai Imambargah on February 6. Relief cheques were handed over to the families of those who lost their lives.
According to officials, each of the 36 families received Rs5 million. The compensation was part of a relief package announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The announcement was made during his visit to the Tarlai Imambargah on February 11.
The tragic Tarlai blast happened during Friday prayers. A suicide bomber tried to enter the Imambargah and carried out the attack. At least 35 people were martyred in the incident. Several others were injured.
Authorities said the relief package also includes financial support for four other martyrs. These individuals belonged to Tunsa Sharif, Talagang, Astor, and Skardu. Cheques are being provided to their families as well.
Meanwhile, investigators have shared key details about the attacker involved in the Tarlai blast. According to official sources, the bomber was identified as 25-year-old Yasir. He reportedly used between four and six kilograms of explosives. The device was packed with ball bearings to cause maximum damage.
Sources revealed that Yasir fired two shots before entering the mosque. After entering, he fired six more shots. He then detonated his suicide jacket inside the Imambargah. Police confirmed that all bullet casings were collected from the scene.
Investigators also stated that Yasir had been missing from his home for over a year. During that time, he remained in occasional contact with his family through phone calls.

Security agencies continue to investigate the network behind the attack. Officials have assured the public that those responsible will be brought to justice. The Tarlai blast has raised concerns about security measures at religious places. Authorities have promised to strengthen safety arrangements to prevent similar incidents in the future.
