Thousands of Rotten Eggs and Other Unsafe Items Seized From Bakery

Health authorities in Lahore have carried out a major inspection, uncovering serious hygiene violations at a local bakery. During the raid, thousands of rotten eggs and other unsafe items seized from bakery shocked both officials and customers, raising concerns about food safety standards in the city.

According to the Punjab Food Authority (PFA), the inspection team discovered large quantities of expired ingredients, including butter, cream, and food coloring. Most alarming was the recovery of thousands of rotten eggs and other unsafe items seized from bakery, which were reportedly being used in daily production of cakes, pastries, and bread.

Officials said the raid was conducted following public complaints about foul smells and poor hygiene at the bakery. Upon investigation, the team found unsanitary working conditions, expired raw materials, and improper food storage practices. The bakery was immediately sealed, and samples were sent to a laboratory for further testing.

The PFA spokesperson stated that thousands of rotten eggs and other unsafe items seized from bakery highlight the urgent need for strict enforcement of food safety laws. Businesses involved in food preparation must adhere to quality standards to protect public health, the official added.

Authorities have also announced that a criminal case will be registered against the bakery’s owners. They face heavy fines and possible imprisonment if found guilty of endangering consumers’ health. The PFA has intensified its crackdown on food establishments across Punjab to ensure safe and hygienic products are available in the market.

Meanwhile, residents have appreciated the swift action taken by the food authority, urging regular inspections to prevent such incidents in the future. The PFA reiterated its commitment to maintaining strict oversight and warned all bakeries and restaurants to comply with hygiene regulations or face closure.
