Thunderstorms and Rain Forecast Across Pakistan as Heatwave Continues

A major weather shift is on the horizon as the Pakistan Meteorological Department issues alerts for rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in several regions, while southern parts brace for unrelenting heat.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, heavy showers and gusty winds are expected in Chitral, Swat, Malakand, Abbottabad, Peshawar, and surrounding districts. Punjab will also see rain in cities like Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Sialkot, offering temporary relief from soaring temperatures.

Southern and central Punjab, along with parts of Sindh and Balochistan, will continue to endure intense heat. Karachi recorded a blistering 49°C on Saturday, though light rain is predicted in suburban areas by June 16.

Lahore’s weather may ease with expected rain through June 16, but heat remains intense with highs around 43°C. Authorities urge citizens to avoid outdoor exposure and stay protected during storms.
