TLP Deputy Amir Detained in Okara for Threatening CJP Isa

Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Deputy Amir Pir Zaheerul Hasan Shah was arrested by police in Okara for allegedly threatening Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa and inciting violence against the judiciary. Shah was apprehended from an undisclosed location in Okara after being booked for making provocative statements about the chief justice and the judiciary. The arrest was made following a case registered against Shah at the Qila Gujjar Singh police station.

Shah faces charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) for inciting religious hatred, disturbing public order, intimidating the judiciary, threatening officials, and interfering with government affairs. According to the FIR, during a protest outside Lahore Press Club, Shah allegedly urged the public against the judiciary and offered a reward of Rs10 million for anyone who kills the Chief Justice of Pakistan. The case reflects the serious nature of the threats and the extent of Shah’s alleged incitement.

The federal government has announced that it will take strict measures against individuals involved in threatening the country’s top judge. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, in a press conference, stated that the government is committed to upholding the law against those behind provocative and unfounded attacks on CJP Isa. Asif criticized attempts to incite chaos and violence under the guise of religious fervor for political gains.

He emphasized that the belief in the finality of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is fundamental to faith and reaffirmed that the Supreme Court has already addressed related issues. The government’s firm stance highlights its resolve to protect the judiciary from threats and maintain public order amidst rising tensions.
