Train Services Resume in Balochistan After 24-Hour Suspension

Pakistan Railways has announced the full restoration of Train services in Balochistan and to other provinces after a brief suspension.

Officials confirmed that operations resumed following a one-day halt caused by security concerns. The suspension affected key routes connecting Balochistan with major cities across the country.

According to Pakistan Railways, the Chaman Passenger train departed from Quetta to Chaman on schedule. The Jaffar Express also left Quetta for Peshawar as per its normal timetable. The Bolan Mail is set to depart from Quetta for Karachi on December 28.

Railway authorities stated that Train services were suspended only for one day. They added that the situation has stabilized and operations are now running smoothly. Security agencies worked closely with railway officials to assess risks before resuming travel.

Earlier, all major train operations from Balochistan were stopped on Thursday. The decision was taken as a precaution due to security threats in the region. Passengers were informed in advance to avoid inconvenience.

The Jaffar Express, which travels from Quetta to Peshawar, was among the trains affected. The Bolan Mail, running between Quetta and Karachi, was also cancelled for the day. Services within Balochistan, including the Chaman Passenger, were halted during the suspension.

Pakistan Railways emphasized that passenger safety remains the top priority. Officials said train movement would only resume once security conditions were deemed safe. After consultations with law enforcement agencies, clearance was granted to restart operations.

Passengers welcomed the decision, as rail travel remains a vital link for Balochistan. Many travelers rely on Train services for affordable and reliable transportation to other provinces. The resumption is expected to ease travel difficulties faced during the suspension.

Railway staff have been instructed to follow strict safety protocols. Additional security measures have also been put in place at major stations and along sensitive routes.

Pakistan Railways advised passengers to check updated schedules before traveling. Officials also urged travelers to cooperate with security personnel during inspections.

The restoration of services reflects efforts to maintain connectivity despite security challenges. Authorities said they will continue monitoring the situation closely to ensure uninterrupted train operations in the coming days.
