21 Afghan Nationals Arrested in Turbat for Illegal Entry into Pakistan

TURBAT: Police have Arrested 21 Afghan nationals during a security blockade in the D Baloch area of Turbat. The operation was carried out as part of routine checking, police sources confirmed on Tuesday.

According to officials, the blockade was set up to monitor movement on key routes. During the checking process, officers stopped a group travelling towards Gwadar. After verifying documents, police Arrested all 21 individuals on the spot.

Initial investigations showed that the detainees had entered Pakistan illegally. Police sources said none of the individuals could provide valid travel or residence documents. As a result, they were taken into custody for further questioning.

Authorities revealed that the Arrested Afghan nationals belong to Herat, a major city in Afghanistan. Police are now examining how the group crossed the border. Officials are also trying to trace their exact travel route inside Pakistan.

Sources said the group was moving together when intercepted. Their mode of transport and timing raised suspicion during the routine check. Officers then decided to conduct a detailed inspection, which led to the arrests.

Police stated that such blockades are regularly conducted in sensitive areas. These checks aim to prevent illegal entry and ensure public safety. Turbat and nearby regions remain under close monitoring due to their strategic importance.

After the arrests, the individuals were shifted to a local police station. Their personal details were recorded, and questioning began. Authorities are trying to determine the purpose of their travel and intended stay.

Further legal action is now underway under relevant laws. Police officials said the case will proceed according to established procedures. Immigration and security departments may also be involved in the investigation.

Officials stressed that operations like these are not targeted at any specific group. The focus remains on enforcing immigration laws and maintaining order. Police added that anyone found violating entry regulations will face legal consequences.
