Türkiye to Build Military Drone Factory in Pakistan: Bloomberg Report

Türkiye to Build Military Drone Factory in Pakistan Bloomberg Report

Turkiye is preparing to build a new military drone facility in Pakistan as both countries move to deepen their long-term defence partnership. According to recent reports, the project is part of Turkiye’s broader plan to include Pakistan in its fifth-generation fighter aircraft programme.

The new military drone initiative highlights growing defence cooperation between the two nations. Under a joint production agreement, Turkiye is already working with Pakistan on the construction of naval combat vessels for the Pakistani Navy. The country has also upgraded several F-16 aircraft for Pakistan, increasing their operational capability.

Turkiye’s defence exports have grown rapidly, rising by 30 percent in the last 11 months and reaching $7.5 billion in 2025. Turkish Aerospace Industries, a key player in this progress, opened its first office in Pakistan in 2019. The company is also involved in supplying 30 ATA and 1,229 helicopters under a contract worth $1.5 billion. Officials say these projects reflect Pakistan’s improved defence standards and the strong reliability of its partnership with Turkiye.

The new military drone project is expected to further boost Pakistan’s defence production capacity. It will also help strengthen technology-sharing between the two countries, giving Pakistan access to advanced systems and manufacturing expertise.

High-level meetings continue to support these developments. Earlier this month, Turkiye’s Minister of Energy, Alparslan Bayraktar, visited Pakistan’s General Headquarters (GHQ). He held discussions with Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the meeting, both sides talked about areas of mutual interest. They focused on expanding Pak–Turkiye cooperation in the energy sector, enhancing bilateral ties, and exploring new opportunities for strategic collaboration. The leadership reaffirmed their commitment to working together for regional stability and long-term partnership.
